Meat baller works as described in product info but the handles have edges and are not comfortable to use.Could see using for a short time but not for an hour or more.Love the simplicity, I just think the edges around the finger holes could have been rounded off for comfort.Every year we make 400 meatballs for a Swedish traditional Christmas party. Takes the entire family to roll those meatballs! Last year as we all were rolling my 10 old son said "there must be a better way". He found thirds product on Amazon and we ordered it and this year we put it to the test.1, as the directions state, you need a tall glass of hot water to rinse them with between EVERY meatball.2, make sure you really pack the meatballs as you scope upVery easy to work with. After the kids tiered of helping I could keep an even pace on my own thru meatball scoping, hot frying and medium frying. One design detail keeps this product at a 4 star (vs a 5 star). The openings in the handle have sharp edges and wear on you thumb. I wish they put a smooth plastic cover or at least smooth the metal.Looking forward to use these again! It's not the best quality, and like other reviewers have said it is useful just te measure the same amount for each ball. I still have to use my hands to get the meat out of the baller and form it into a sphere. If there is a meatballer out there that actually makes the balls for you in a way that keeps hands clean I would love to know about it.I put several pictures up because I saw many reviews say the meat sticks in it, but I did not have that experience at all. I had bought this at Christmas to make peanut butter balls but it did not work. But it did for the meatballs. My hamburger was cold and I added an egg, breadcrumbs and cheese to the mix. I usex az pound and a half of hamburger and it made 35 meatballs. I gave it 4 stars because they are not held together real great. When I was done the 2 spoons came apart and I had to snap them back together but overall I really liked these.I wanted to get these for making whoppers for my dad. This was a tad too big so I tried using them to make cake pops. I ended up getting blisters. The cake pops and whoppers wouldn't come out once pressed. I have a melon ballers I'll continue to use instead.I don't make meatballs and meatball accessories so take into consideration that those 3 stars are for cake pops only. Okay, so I don't know why people are saying these make perfectly round cake pops. I mean, I'm no wizard but I know a sphere when I see one. This thing makes oblong cake pops. I would only use this to make them for my family who love and care for me and could overlook my circumference challenged cake. I'd never have the nerve to hand them over to a client. If the thought of an imperfect circle doesn't make your head explode, it is pretty nifty. And it's the perfect size. It has two little escape hatches on the top and bottom for the excess cake to pop out of, and like another reviewer mentioned, they used one of the holes to pop the stick through. Genius. Your cake pop maintains it sad little shape through the impaling process. I sprayed the cups with flour infused baking spray and had no trouble removing them. And for my last death rattle I'd like to mention that the finger holes on these things are the worst. For reals, these things HURT to use. I wrapped them with tape for cushioning but damn. I TRIED.If you're worried about size and sticking, I have two bits of advice to address the misgivings of other reviewers:- Use nonstick cooking spray. I think this should be a no-brainer, but that's to MY brain.- I'm not sure what the surprising vexation is, but the size of the metal ball you see at the end of the tongs, regardless of what size or unit you purchase, is going to be the size of the meatball it makes. You cannot keep giving bad reviews to products because you don't pay attention to the "insignificant" details like size before you order them.A good product. Hard on the fingers, but I use a pair of kitchen gloves and I'm fine.
