These shears were very heavy duty, disassembled easily for cleaning. Just what I was looking for.These scissors are, seriously, the best thing I've ever purchased that I never knew I needed. They are long and light weight and sturdy. They're sharp and they're a snap to take apart to clean. All of these features rank them far above any pair of kitchen shears that I've ever owned.I have plenty of experience in the kitchen but I'm in my 70s now with terribly degraded vision and some arthritis in the base of my right thumb. Needless to say, the scope of my cooking skills has greatly diminished over the last few years. My lack of depth perception and extreme white light sensitivity has made efficient use of kitchen knives all but impossible for me.I bought these shears hoping they would provide a safer and more manageable way for me to do some of the tasks that I was used to doing with knives. The first thing I did with them was spatchcock a 5 1/2 lb chicken. I've never done that before even when my vision was perfect. I roasted it my medium/large toaster oven, removed the meat I wanted to use and put every bit of the rest into my crockpot. Heaven! In truth, it turned out to be the most tender meat and the best tasting broth I have ever made and I give a huge part of the credit to these wonderful scissors.Using these provided me with new ways to use old skills. Skills that have been degrading right along with my vision. They allowed me to cut meat and bone with a top to bottom balance using a tactile sense that a single bladed knife can't provide; they allowed me to use a compact oven to roast something larger than it would otherwise accommodate; they allowed me to easily trim chicken pieces to fit neatly into my crockpot. And, best of all they returned to me some of the confidence in my cooking that my fast failing sight has been rapidly striping away. I can't begin to express how wonderful that feels.I have every faith that I will be finding more an more ways to apply my new tool to tasks that my vision has been making so frustrating. I highly recommend these shears for everyone who cooks; for those who want to learn new cooking skills; and most of all for those who would like to revive old ones.WorksReplaced kitchen shears we have used for a long while, that were more expensive. These shears are nothing short of amazing. Multipurpose, easily dismantled for cleaning. Well worth the price which we thought was quite reasonable. If you are looking to purchase kitchen shears give these careful consideration. You will definitely be glad you did.These are sturdy and work greatI mainly got these scissors for for breaking down compostable food packaging and general kitchen use. My last pair of kitchen scissors rusted through at the screw so these shouldn't have that problem. Having the two halves able to come apart makes for easier cleaning too. They have plenty of power for cutting through compostable paper bowls etc.The only downside I've seen is that the handle holes are a little large for me so after extended use when breaking down packaging I start to feel the strain of holding the scissors extra tight to keep them from slipping. It's a slightly different pattern of ache than I used to get with my old smaller and less powerful pair of scissors. My hands aren't exactly small - I can span 9 white keys on a piano if that's a helpful reference.Other than that these are great for a couple snips here and there during cooking and food prep.I cannot yet speak to the cutting prowess of these, but I just got them and wanted to review the overall construction. They feel solid in the hand. However, the Silicone/rubberized interior handle seems to be poorly molded on because at every seam and corner the pair I received has loose bits hanging off. I could remove some bits, but others lay too flat against the adjacent steel, so the end result is an unfinished look. I also expect those little nibs to collect bacteria and trap it against the steel where they overhang.Washing is not super easy because of two things. I know the peeler is supposed to be an extra feature but I just do not ever see myself using such a small peeler, especially considering the awkward grip you need to use to peel with it (seems a bit dangerous to me considering how sharp the blade is). Well, not only is it a mostly useless peeler, but the chamfered edge of it makes it difficult to wipe down the blade without the sponge/washcloth getting caught, thus making the process a little less safe. The can/lid openers on the back of the handles may at least one day come in handy, but they tend to poke your hands while trying to wipe down the lenght of the blade because of their angle, and they are fairly sharp. They just seem to prevent any good angle for holding the scissors while washing and since keeping the blades of scissors sharp demands handwashing for longevity, I think skipping the can opening feature might have been the better choice for the manufacturer to make.These extra features are the types of things that seem like a nice add-on when looking at tons of webpages of possibilities, but in reality they cause more difficulties than they solves problems.I love my Cutco kitchen shears, but they are so overpriced that I was hoping to find another pair of kitchen shears that were even half as good as a back-up for when the Cutco shears are in use. I was pleased that these do cut well, even through meat, but I don't like the bottle-opener on the ends. It makes the shears awkward to use.These are about a sixth the price of the Cutco shears and cut about half as well, so they are still a good value. I would have given them five stars but they tried to add too many features to these scissors and most of those features are unnecessary and detract from these being more useful.Pros:Cuts well, even meatCome apart easily for cleaningCons:Bottle opener on the ends make these awkwardToo many "features" that aren't really functional. Wish they'd focused on just being good, high- quality scissors.We love these shears and highly recommend them. They are slightly bigger than the ones that came with our knife block, but they still fit nicely. They are sturdy and have a nice grip, one blade is serrated a grips when cutting. They also a notched area on the blade for cutting thick items like bones. Also they do seperate for cleaning but not will your're using them. I will be buying another pair for our RV.Nice and sturdy. Well thought out and multi-functional. The fish descaling tool (the serrated back on one of the blade) is a nice touch although I probably wouldn't be doing a lot of descaling of fish at home - but it's there.I didn't rate the durability as I haven't had it long enough to rate properly.Somehow misplaced our Cutco kitchen shears so had to find a pair of new ones. These are amazing for the fraction of the cost and would definitely recommend these to friends and family! Will be purchasing another pair for the trailer.The scissor was good for few months, then the middle part that holding the blades together fell apart. I put it back together and used for few weeks then it fell apart again and again. Contacted seller to sort it out but never replied.Have not much of a chance to use them. Performed as stated when I did.
