I absolutely love the scissors they are exactly what I needed and wantedGreatsWow, these are heavy old fashioned shears! I like the looks of them and they are very sharp. I tried them out cutting a few things and they work very well.The only caveat I want to mention is that I have large wide hands for a woman. I discovered the handles of these hit on my middle knuckles in an uncomfortable way when my hands are in them. I wouldn’t want to use them for a long period of time because that would make my knuckles sore. Also I have to open my hands a long ways to open the blades. These do seem to be made for larger hands or longer hands than I have? A woman with tiny hands might have difficulty with these.Ergonomics are tricky like that because we are all shaped so differently. Just for reference if you are considering these; woman’s gloves never fit me because they are so narrow, but men’s have fingers that are often too long for me. And also just because my hands are like that doesn’t mean that I won’t and can’t use these shears. Rarely do I use a kitchen scissor for more than quick jobs, so I think they will be fine.That said, I do like that they cut super well. The blades on the shorter pair have an outer serration that would work for fish scaling. There are a few notches for various uses…like the nut cracking function.The blades are well polished and finished. There is a mini-serration on one blade of the smaller pair in combination with a non-serrated side. I have found this blade configuration to be extremely effective in keeping shears sharp and cutting well. It’s very effective.The slight texture on the handles will keep your hands from slipping.These feel like serious scissors. I wouldn’t want to run with them. I do believe they will easily cut up a chicken or do other common household chores that scissors are used for. I can imagine a guy would love these for grilling jobs, and he could open his beverage with them too!Even with the consideration of the handles being a bit odd for my hands (remembering my hands are a bit weird), I have to give these a thumbs up and 5 stars. These are excellent kitchen shears and seem like they will handle anything you throw at them. I might go buy a chicken now…just to cut it up!These are heavy duty scissors for sure, and it works great - sharp & strong!!!However for a daily household use, it might be too heavy, especially for my wife.She is already complaining that it's too heavy just to cut or open bags with it.So I guess I will use it myself preparing meats and/or poultry.**I hope they make the regular shape scissor with little bit lighter quality for household use, and keep the heavy duty quality for shear shape scissor might make better set than both heavy duty quality.The red scissors are much bigger than the standard kitchen scissors (green). I have trouble holding it. The smaller curved scissors are perfect for cutting up your little one's food. They are both dishwasher safe.Nice, heavy, good quality, but they don’t look clean. They have marks on them and look used. If I could send them back I would.These are multi-purpose kitchen scissors. They are ambidextrous, but the larger shears are more so. The smaller ones cut slightly easier when using the right hand. They have a bottle opener that works on the larger pair. My only issue is the large scissors handles are very large, but this will be good when cutting something that is tough to get through.These 2 scissors are larger and heavier than I had anticipated. Which is a good thing! I am used to plastic and these are all metal. The test will be to see how they hold up over time, but on first impression I really like them. The blades are curved differently which helps for different types of cutting (food vs fabric for example.) I was surprisingly pleased.
