I like this shredder. When you have a lot of shredding to do the stack and walk away feature is the best. The auto feed feature should have been created years ago. It's really nice not having to manual feed a lot of files. One thing I do notice it does have a burning smell. I don't know if this is just because it is new or not. I will give it more time with testing. Even though it has a large bin to hold the shredding it does fill up fast. I like the fact that is shreds the paper to almost nothing. The one thing I wish it did do is shred label sheets or stickers. Sometimes junk mail has stickers etc. on the paper. Do to the cost of this pricey machine I would not want to ruin the machine for a lousy sticker or a label. The auto feed feature is great if you have paper that is NOT stapled together. It is quiet, but still loud enough to interfere with other tasks - such as listening to the news program, radio, talking on the phone. But if your not doing those things it won't matter. Would I recommend this to anyone? Yes, I would. It is not a monster machine, but it does the job for a very small office or to use in your home for personal use.Too small. It fills up quickly and hard to unjam.I purchased this in February, 2017. It is now November, and I’ve had a chance to use this for a while. All I can say nice is, “horrible shredder”. This is one of my worst purchases on Amazon, and frankly, I’m embarrassed that I paid this much for this piece of trash. I run a small business out of my home, and I needed a shredder that could shred multiple pages per load. I follow all directions, especially the oiling after dumping requirement, because I want this thing to last and do it’s job efficiently. Well, this is a fail. This doesn’t seem powerful enough to “drop” the shredded paper into the bin effectively, meaning that I am CONSTANTLY opening the bin and “wiping” the tight balls of shredded paper off of the cutters. Also, if you’re shredding perfectly straight paper, you have around a 30% chance of successfully shredding a load, but no guarantee. I even wasted new paper right out of the pack - only around 20 sheets - put that in the stacked bin, aligned with the front, and it STILL bunched up and needed me to not only wipe off the balled up paper on the cutters, but I actually had to reverse and forward and pull paper out! This was paper right out of the pack!!! I had two shredders going, an older model of a different brand that only shreds around 5 sheets at a time, and this one. This one required me to keep stopping to clear, while the other was chewing up paper without missing a beat. The only reason I’m even looking at this today is because I was reviewing my original purchase to see if I got the warranty. This thing is super heavy, so returning it and trying to get the manufacturers warranty is going to be a major hassle, but weighed against the hassle of using this thing, it’s worth it to pursue my money back.So as someone who spent many years as a mechanical engineer, I have to say this thing feels like the team who designed the feed/shredder and the team that designed the bin never spoke. You can load 150 sheets. It feeds and shreds just fine. But the bin isn't deep enough for that much paper. So after around 100 sheets, you need to pull out the bin, push all the shredded stuff to the back of the bin, close it back up and it will shred the rest of the stack. Another shuffle of the debris in the bin, and you can get another 50 or so sheets in a bag. So the bag can hold around 200 sheets, but with some work. And now you have a huge mess everywhere, even with the optional bags. So if you design these shredders and are reading this, make the bin TALLER, not deeper. I'm ready to Frankenstein this thing so I can actually shred as advertised.I was very disappointed that after two months of sporadic use, the automatic off feature stopped working. This Fellowes 150C shreds similar to the lower priced Fellowes and does not offer any advantages. I would not buy this again.Update: I sent it back. After spending a couple of hours making little headway on my shredding, resulting in one almighty jam, I packaged it up and sent it on its way. This was unacceptable.Again, these were not huge, thick slabs of tough paper. I was trying to shred old financial statements in thin sheaves of probably 10 pages or less. I had treated myself by splurging on this more expensive shredder. I am very disappointed - it really didn't perform better than my old $100 shredder.I have ordered a $35 galvanized burn bin instead. I live in a rural area, so I will go back to the caveman approach.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Eh. It's OK. This is my fourth shredder in the last 20 years, so I have had my struggles. I really was hoping this would be as jam proof as it was claimed to be. The first bag or so of shredding was smooth. Starting on the second bag's worth it has been jamming about every 2-3 minutes. This is all standard stuff - old bank statements and the like that I have been meaning to get rid of, but did not because I hated my old shredder so much. So, it's back to old routine. Oil when needed, keep some needle nose pliers handy for pulling those jams out and generally baby it along.I really wish that companies would test their products in real world settings before advertising them. I'm guessing that their performance and "jam free" claims are based on feeding reams of pure white paper through, fresh from the box. Not wodges of old bank statements. And no, I did not overload it.So it's back to the love-hate relationship I have with shredders. This is better than my old one, but jam-free or leave-alone-to-do-it's-job? Nope. It barely crossed the threshold for me keeping vs returning it.(For background, I am an engineer.)Bought this shredder for work.Arrived damaged but we managed to fix it as required for a lot of shredding.Keep stopping without any reason (overheating / jam)Power switches off whilst there is paper in the tray to be shredded. The pull out basket looks like a corrugated plastic / board not a plastic bin that other shredders have had.All in all not worth the £339This auto shredder works well, either with piles of A4 paper in the feeder (though you have to make sure it's a neat and tidy pile) or with small bundles of miscellaneous sheets fed through the slit at the top. It does heat up quite quickly, so that it has to take a short rest, and hence it might not be good for an environment where there is a constant stream of material. But for a home office, where from time to time there is non-urgent shredding to be done, it's fine. When I received the product it didn't work. I sent a return request, however decided to check out what the problem was? Figuring in all probability it worked when it left the factory. When I opened it up I discovered a connector had become undone, so re connected and it works as it should since. However one word of caution here, I realised if I failed to get it working, the warranty was out the window.Very good value for money.Extremely good machine had no problems what so ever.Kind regardsPaulQuieter than earlier modelsThe stack and shut function is great
