Mix garlic, ginger paste and Shan Karahi Mix. Apply to meat and marinate for (Chicken 15 minutes, Goat/ Lamb/ Beef 1-2 hours +).2. Heat one cup oil and stir fry meat on high heat for 5-6 minutes. Add julienne ginger. Cover and cook on low heat until meat is tender (Chicken 10 minutes, Goat / Lamb / Beef 45 minutes).3. Separately heat ½ cup oil and add tomatoes. Cook on low heat until soft (5-6 minutes). Stir periodically.4. Add cooked tomatoes and green chillies to the cooked meat. On medium heat stir-fry meat until oil separates from masala. Stir constantly. If desired remove excessive oil. Add fresh coriander and butter. Stir fry and serve with hot naans.

The whole household loves the taste of this recipe. However understand that is only the spice package in the box. Make sure you have the rest of the ingredients at home and some time to combine everything.I was looking for a spice or a mixture of spices that enhances the experience of eating certain boring dishes such as chicken breasts and this product hits the spot. It has a unique blend of spices and does not contain any msg or additives but only real ingredients; obtaining these ingredients on my own would be very time consuming and expensive so this adds value to the product. Product quality has been consistent, satisfying my expectations.Shan's is a family staple. They've been in our pantry for the last decade at least. Though I believe we might have had them since the late 90's.I had one problem with my order, at no fault of Shan's and they were swift with a reply and helped me with my problem. They have excellent people on their customer service team and are dedicated to sharing authentic Pakistani and Indian flavors.I would highly recommend them, and will absolutely buy from their store again.This spice blend makes very good Butter Chicken. Can be used with shrimp also.This makes a yummy tasting dish. Downside is that it is high in sodium. Also, the packages looked liked they had been jostled around a lot, so there were a couple of tiny holes in every foil envelope inside. That means a lot of "dust" from the powder inside was puffing out, as the package was no longer completely sealed. Makes me a bit nervous to think the product could have been tampered with, but I used one package already and I'm fine. So foil packaging could be better.This was everything that I was looking for -- a new flavor, strong punch, low calorie with a soul-food feeling. Admittedly, I'm not from India or really part of the culture in any meaningful way, but my understanding was the food was powerfully hot and tastes best when the spices are fresh. As a person searching for a new tummy patting bowl of spicy peaceful bliss, this did it for me.Putting the compliments aside, I have some additional information. First, you'll need Mung Beans for this recipe, which fortunately were available at a local Sprouts Farmers Market or via Amazon. I used whole organic mung beans, although the recipe called for split. I skipped the ghee and used a small amount of olive oil (this probably was why my version was flaming hot). My cooking technique wasn't stove top -- instead I used 60 minutes on high pressure for pressure cooking in an InstantPot.Our family’s favorite meal to kick a cold. So spicy. Topped with Lime, cilantro, and sour cream or yogurt is a must.Good but not 100% what I was looking forThese Shan boxes make delightful curries with a great depth of flavour and quite a heat without adding chillies. The contain all the herbs and spices (except additional chillies you might want to add) to make lovely curries. There is quite a lot of prep to do to make them, but it is well worth it. We make a large amount using all the packet and freeze what we don't eat for a quick and easy meal some time. It make a very very hot Keema which we found inedibleUnfortunately the photo is misleading. I received not the Shan keema curry mix which I thought I was ordering, but a no-name plastic baggie of spices. Not too happy with it because I don’t know the conditions in which it was packed.Extremely hot, not very peasant taste.
